George V. Higgen’s is particularly noted for his dialogue-laden approach, realistic, gritty, and tough-talking. His works mostly focus on the criminals in and around Boston, and the cops who pursue them. These three books were both written in (and take place in) the 1970’s. I looked to this era for creative inspiration, taking a slightly more contemporary approach, while using color choices and type treatments that are reminiscent of the design that was happening at that time.
