Moondogs is a weird, and weirdly affecting Philippines-set debut novel. It combines magical realism, geopolitics, and comic book-style superheroics with shoot-’em-up action, and domestic drama, which all lead to one massive misadventure. With this cover I tried to playfully depict the colorful panoply of characters and the odd convergence of cultures and genres. Whilst also typographically mimicking the hodgepodge of street signage in Manila.
